Mission

The mission of the Southern Ute Tribal Court-Family Court Support Office is to work with children, youth, and families involved in Court cases requiring assessment, evaluation, referral, and/or substance or mental health treatment services. This mission is accomplished by trained mental health professionals, program coordinators, and case managers conducting evidence-based practices and culturally relevant activities with court-ordered or community referred children, youth, and families. 


The Family Court Support Office offers various successful treatment programs and services for Court clients or others:

Juvenile Assessments

Juvenile Treatment

  • Structural Sensory Interventions for Traumatized Children, Adolescents and Parents-Trauma and Loss in Children (individual/group court based and school-based services at Junior High and High School)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy/Equine Therapy (school based at High School)
  • Anger Management (individual court services)
  • MRT (individual and group court services)
  • Substance Treatment (individual-Personal Journey workbook)
  • Relapse Prevention (individual services)
  • Mental Health Treatment (individual and family)

Adult Assessment/Treatment

  • Bio-Psycho-Social Assessment per court order
  • Substance Assessment (all court-involved adults)
  • Anger Management/Trauma Assessments per court order
  • Substance Treatment
  • Mental Health Treatment for adults per court order or internal referral

Special Advocate Program

  • Child and Family Investigations for custody and guardianship cases
  • Home/foster care/RTC visits to children and their families
  • Direct contact with children and their family members
  • Collateral contact with treatment providers, school personnel, relatives or friends, DSS or Probation staff when involved
  • Written reports with custody/parenting time recommendations to the Court
  • Parenting Coordination between high conflict parents to arrange parenting time/child exchanges
  • Mediation of new parenting agreements

Guardian ad Litem Program

  • Child or adult mental health guardian ad litem for dependency, adult protection, guardianship, and juvenile delinquency cases per court order
  • Home/foster care/RTC visits to children and their families
  • Direct contact with children and their family members
  • Collateral contact with DSS caseworker, treatment providers, school personnel, probation officer
  • Written reports with recommendations to the Court

Mediation Program

  • Juvenile victim/offender mediation
  • Adult victim/Offender mediation
  • Custody, housing, probate mediation
  • Written Parent Agreements for parenting time, custody, or child support submitted to the Court

Referral Program

  • Self or agency referral regarding questions for use of FCSO services
  • Referrals to other agencies/community providers for adjunct services to clients
